Last Minute Book Cover at the 11th Hour November 8, 2008

Let me know if you have any preferences between the following book covers:
Before you give your feedback, pretend like you’ve never met me or come across any of my information. Imagine these books are in a bookstore among tens of thousands of others. Which one would cause you to pick it up and read the back cover and/or browse the contents?
### Update
Larger images: Many of you have requested larger images. I don’t have them yet. Also, for the first couple of months this will be selling primarily on Amazon so people will initially see the thumbnail. Once it’s in a bookstore, it’s still that first fraction of a second that may even be at a distance that makes the difference. Please give whatever feedback you can about that initial glance of these smaller images even if you can’t read every little word.
### Update about [financial] FREEDOM
In the comments on this post and the last one about the title, many of you have mentioned labeling the book about “financial” freedom and that the green book is better for “financial” freedom.
I had posted a preview chapter a month or two ago online, and since then the book has been drastically rewritten. The way this book is rewritten, it’s not necessary about getting rich. The 5 steps prescribe a mandatory move out of the stock market and out of the dollar. They go on to prescribe real savings with little effort. Then they offer methods of wealth BUILDING, although they are optional. Believe it or not (unlike most of you and I) LOTS of people have things they’d rather do than multiply their money. So I leave the multiplication and how much up to the reader, while I give a call to action to absolutely get out of the stock market and into simple inflation shelters.
Another item is that this is about the bigger freedom too. Congressmen vote on bills that they haven’t read. The government is taking over industries, forcing bailouts. We are accelerrating towards socialism and fascism. Every day that each one of us leaves our money in the hands of huge financial institutions we are contributing to the government/wall-street/big-corporation/lobbyist/special-interests/Fed partnership. There is a LOT of crazy stuff going on that will undoubtedly collapse our country if we don’t take all the leaches and manipulators off of our once-free market. Most people who want to do anything about our country being hijacked and our Constitution being shredded usually pursue political activism. Following the 5 steps to freedom will have a direct impact on taking the power back to the individual without having to follow political rules and jump through hoops.
So following the 5 steps to freedom is really about freedom. THE freedom. Which inevitably involves finances. But this book isn’t about getting rich. It’s about revealing the hidden systemic losses built into the average persons savings and investments, fixing those problems, and then showing the optional path to wealth building.
Please take this explanation into consideration when viewing the book. Many of you think you know what’s inside the cover and now you know it is much different than the original manuscript. Also, pretend you know nothing about what’s inside the cover as you give feedback about first impressions. Thanks a bunch everyone!

The third cover would.
If you can send a larger view of the bookcover it would be helpful
having said that from a layout point of view the first book is the cleanest. Less is more
I like the 3rd one…the green cover, it attracts more attention.
First one….Slavery…is the most eye catching to me.

Jeff, If you have to use the 5-Steps to Freedom title, (I had suggested another title), then I would recommend the last version (Green) with the breakthrough of the wall image. The red designed book images are not that compelling, and I think books about finance that are in the color green sell better than red colored books, (alarm, stop sign, etc.).
I would pick up the first one. The big red bar on top is a real attention grabber.
Middle one
The green one. It’s attractive; red tends to awake, but also repel. Plus, of course, green is the color of growth, of life, of money…
The word “slavery” may possibly evoke a negative connotation…and I don’t know if it would compell someone to look at it further to investigate….or ignore it because it sounds negative. Either way…its negative.

I like the light-hearted Marionette image along with the more direct title that mentions “Escaping Financial SLAVERY” prominent on top. I can’t really tell what the other are showing due to such a small image size. Is that a plane on #2? The other two emphasize “freedom” but it’s not obvious that you are talking about financial since the subtext is so much less prominent below. I’m not a fan of the other two that include the “What you are not suppose to know… beginning which I can’t quite tell was eliminated on the cover of book #1.
Go with the red one with SLAVERY in bold. Definately the most eye catching and although the first impression may be misleading, people will have to pick it up and read the rest of the cover. 2nd place to the jail cell and I like both the others, but they are too easy to walk past.

I like the look of the 1st cover, but resonate with the input about the color green. First layout with green instead of red??

I like the first one better. Can’t really say why, it just attracts me to look closer. They are very small images–I had to copy and paste them and make them bigger to get a better look.

The third cover appears to be the most effective. If I were browsing the book shelves it would be the one that catches my eye.
1st choice is the green one #3. 2nd choice is #1.
Larger image would be helpful. Red is usually the most eye catching color. You can find stats online about best colors to use. Please send larger images for more feedback.
Hi Jeff. I like the third cover (green). It has more inpact visually when you first see it.
Definitely NOT #1 – Slavery connects with Human trafficking.
Prefer Choice # 3 — definitely “Jeff nabers.” Also green has better connection to “money”.

I tried to search for stats on the best colors to use.
There is a lot of web sites about color psychology in general, but I haven’t found any about book cover colors and their sales conversion rates.

Hey guys, check out the updates in the post for some further clarification.
I choose the green one.
First one, then third, in that order.
Jeff, the first one is best. If you could make the images a little bigger it would be best. It is the cleanest!
The 2nd one does not convey Freedom.
The 3rd cover looks too plain for me. It look like a cover for a masonry company.
Also, book cover #1 is a cover you would see on the NY Times bestseller’s list. It is a stand out cover and I would gravitate to that cover first if the 3 books were side by side on the bookstore bookshelf.
Jeff, my choices: First is #3, second is #2, last is #1.

I agree with comment # 9. Go green instead.
The third is by far my favorite. The color green on it is a nice touch. The first one with the word slavery on it is “no bueno”.
Just a note…
These aren’t final designs. On the first one, the text will likely be adjusted. The title and subtitle will probably be swapped and “slavery” will probably be shrunk slightly while “escape financial” will be enlarged to create the visible “escape financial slavery”.
I like the first one – it pops!
Third cover, but First Title (with those adjustments you mentioned). Please! I would pick up the first one anyway whether the title was “pretty” or not because of what was written, the attention grabbing title. Even if it is negative, it grabs attention and prompts to investigate further. The green cover, aesthetically speaking, is the most appealing, but the title is not as exciting. I have seen and read a 1001+ books on “so many steps to..” this or that, but not many with “Ending Financial Slavery” in the title. I would have to stop and investigate a book like that.
I like the first one how many of us live or have lived feeling the bondage of modern slavery.
First one…
The first one does it for me. The image of a marrionette puppet with the scissors ready to cut the strings is evocative of the financial bondage and manipulation that we are victim to by the system you decry and how we can get free. The word “slavery” has strong negative connotations but that is appropropriate in this case.
I completely agree with Catrise Paige about the first and third books, which means I would not pick the second book cover.
When will the book be available for purchase? I’d like to get it.
