JEFF,
I am confused. In you article you say you cannot own gold in an IRA LLC. You also say that you CAN own gold in a self directed IRA through the custodian, but that it is not a good idea to own gold through the custodian. So... what is safest way to own gold in an IRA?

I thought you could own gold in an IRA/LLC

thank you
Rich L.

Dr D,

Good job on taking control :-)

I fear that you might just be going through the motions as you will be letting a government regulated financial institution hold your physical wealth during a period of time where our government is literally going bankrupt and facing the option of suicide or a new wealth grab. Only time will tell.

If you are truly interested in protecting your wealth against real threats, contact us and we'll hook you up with some more genuine methods of wealth protection.

Great information. I'm leaning on going with http://www.IRAMetals.com as they have a way to make the actual metal allocated into my name. Another option is that they have private minted bullion (Scottsdale Silver) that is qualified for IRA by IRS rules and is actually cheaper than the government issue eagles for example. My account is being setup as we speak and hope that my money clears next week before gold and silver go back up!

Jeff, I've read all the info you've provided on buying precious metals which seemed incomplete for certainty on my part, so wanted to confirm our understanding of the situation as we move forward to buy coins for my solo 401K....

My reading is that we can buy American Eagles, but are we strictly limited to US minted coins? I prefer Canadian Maples and Austrian Philharmonics in addition to the Eagles for various reasons, hence my question.

It would be ideal if you could clarify in your customer documentation more succinctly what can and cannot be bought . A statement such as, "Solo 401k plan owners can ONLY buy US minted coins (if this is so) that do not have collectible value. This would include American Eagles American, Buffalo gold bullion coins, silver Walking Liberty's and junk US silver coins, etc, etc." This would make it very clear to your "Good Naber" investors. ;-)
Thanks!
